Student blogging is a harder one - while I completely agree with you, I know a few people have given up headbutting with the Education Dept since their notion of blogging is more like a sealed digital journal. All I can say if keep pushing - maybe with a parental consent form you'd be able to get proper student blogs up? Good luck! I'm currently battling the education department to allow myself and my year twelves to have a class blog - can you offer any advice? Their main problem is safety and privacy, and my main problem is that the constraints they put on us to make us safe and private make the experience non-genuine and defeats the purpose of the ability to communicate with the world in the technological medium we see fit!
